Which casino bonus is actually worth taking?

Usually the one with the shortest small print — so we grade six UKGC-licensed casinos on how their welcome offers are built, what the wagering genuinely asks of you, and what the site is like once the deal is spent.

18+ Spin Route Book is an independent comparison site. We don't run games, take bets or handle money — we review, grade and link. If play stops being fun, help is free and confidential.

The shortlist, graded

Every site below holds a Gambling Commission licence, which is our entry requirement, not a selling point. The overall grade weighs bonus fairness most heavily; the criterion-by-criterion detail follows further down the page.

How we're paid: the "Visit" buttons are affiliate links. If you open an account through one, the operator pays us a commission at no cost to you. That funds the site; it doesn't set the grades. Operators cannot pay to improve a grade or to remove a poor one — more in our affiliate disclosure.

PokerStars Casino

Overall grade for bonus fairness and everyday play
A
  • Stake-and-get spins
  • Evolution live floor
  • Flutter-owned

The poker giant's casino arm gets the same engineering as its card rooms, and it shows: the app rarely stumbles, Evolution runs the live tables alongside PokerStars' own branded rooms, and the welcome deal keeps its instructions short.

Happy Tiger

Overall grade for bonus fairness and everyday play
C
  • Slots-led lobby
  • Match + spins offer
  • Multi-brand stable

Happy Tiger comes from the multi-brand school of UK casino sites: a compact slots lobby, a tiered match-and-spins welcome, and terms that read as if written once for fifty sister sites. Fine for a casual spin; thin if you want more.

Lucky Vegas

Overall grade for bonus fairness and everyday play
B
  • Vegas styling
  • Live dealer section
  • Match bonus

There's more under Lucky Vegas's showtime styling than you'd guess. A proper live-dealer section, slots from the major studios, and a match bonus whose wagering figure at least sits where you can find it rather than in a footnote.

QuinnBet

Overall grade for bonus fairness and everyday play
C
  • Sportsbook roots
  • Money-back style offers
  • Compact casino

QuinnBet is a bookmaker first, and the Irish firm's casino sits one tab over from the racing. The game shelf runs shorter than the specialists', though its offers lean on money-back mechanics rather than headline match percentages — some players prefer exactly that.

Casushi

Overall grade for bonus fairness and everyday play
B
  • Playful theme
  • Big-studio slots
  • Match + spins

Sushi-themed and cheerfully odd, Casushi backs the gimmick with substance. Slots come from the NetEnt and Play'n GO tier of studios, the live section is small but current, and the welcome pairs a modest match with spins instead of promising the moon.

BetMGM

Overall grade for bonus fairness and everyday play
A
  • MGM backing
  • LeoVegas platform
  • Native app

BetMGM arrived in Britain on LeoVegas's platform after MGM Resorts bought the Swedish operator, and the pairing works: Vegas-brand exclusive games, one of the quicker apps we've used, and welcome offers that trigger on a simple deposit rather than a checklist.

The breakdown: five criteria, graded A to D

Grades on the cards above are a summary. This is the working. We start with the two criteria that decide whether a bonus respects your time — offer structure and wagering small print — because that's the spine of this site, then cover what you're left with as a regular player. The full scoring method lives on its own page.

1

How the welcome offer is built

A welcome deal is a set of instructions, and some are simply shorter than others. This grade measures the shape of the offer — what you must do, in how many steps — not the size printed on the banner.

  1. 1PokerStars CasinoAStake a tenner, spins arrive. The shortest instruction sheet of the six.
  2. 2BetMGMBOne qualifying deposit unlocks it; the steps are plain, the game restrictions less so.
  3. 3CasushiBMatch plus spins in a single package, laid out on one page.
  4. 4QuinnBetCMoney-back mechanics mean a full day of play before you know what you've got.
  5. 5Lucky VegasCA standard match carrying more qualifying conditions than average.
  6. 6Happy TigerCMatch and spins split across tiers that few casual players will ever finish.
2

What the wagering small print asks

Wagering requirements decide whether a bonus is money or homework. Here we grade how heavy the playthrough feels, how clearly games are weighted, and whether winnings caps are stated where you'll actually see them.

  1. 1PokerStars CasinoALittle to untangle — the spin terms fit on one screen and say what they mean.
  2. 2BetMGMBStandard multipliers, clearly stated; table games contribute less, as is usual.
  3. 3CasushiBThe wagering figure sits beside the offer instead of ten clicks deep.
  4. 4Lucky VegasCFindable, but the game-weighting table takes some patience.
  5. 5QuinnBetCCasino terms share a page with the sportsbook's, and it shows.
  6. 6Happy TigerDBoilerplate terms with a winnings cap most visitors will miss.
3

Life after the welcome deal

The welcome offer lasts days; the site is what you keep. This grade covers what regulars actually get — reloads, prize drops, seasonal promotions — and whether those carry fair terms of their own.

  1. 1BetMGMADaily prize drops and MGM-branded seasonal promotions keep the calendar full.
  2. 2PokerStars CasinoBCasino races and drops run steadily, borrowed from the poker playbook.
  3. 3CasushiBWeekly spins and small recurring extras — modest, but regular and clearly termed.
  4. 4QuinnBetCMost of the ongoing value sits on the sports side of the house.
  5. 5Lucky VegasCA rotating offer page that leans heavily on repeat deposit matches.
  6. 6Happy TigerDOnce the welcome tiers are done, the promotions page goes quiet.
4

Games and the live floor

Bonuses are spent on games, so the shelf matters. We look at catalogue depth, which studios supply it, and whether the live-dealer section is a real room or a token one.

  1. 1PokerStars CasinoAA deep catalogue plus Evolution tables and own-branded live rooms.
  2. 2BetMGMAA big shelf with MGM exclusives you genuinely can't play elsewhere.
  3. 3CasushiBTop-tier studios, well organised; the live section is compact but current.
  4. 4Lucky VegasBBroader than the theme suggests, with a workable live-dealer range.
  5. 5QuinnBetCCovers the essentials; specialists will notice the gaps.
  6. 6Happy TigerCSlots do the heavy lifting; live play feels like an afterthought.
5

Mobile and everyday use

Most of this play happens on a phone in odd minutes, so we grade the route from opening the site to spinning a reel: app quality where one exists, mobile web where one doesn't, and how much furniture stands in the way.

  1. 1BetMGMAA proper native app, and the quickest of the six from open to game.
  2. 2PokerStars CasinoAMature apps carried over from poker, stable across long sessions.
  3. 3CasushiBMobile web only, but built well enough that you rarely miss an app.
  4. 4Lucky VegasBA responsive site that behaves; the navigation takes a session to learn.
  5. 5QuinnBetCThe app favours the sportsbook; casino play feels like a guest.
  6. 6Happy TigerCA templated mobile site that works without ever feeling quick.

How the grades are made

Each grade comes from the same checklist, applied by a person who has read the operator's current terms that month — no scraping, no scores for sale. The method page shows every criterion and what separates an A from a D.

Straight answers

Myth The bigger the welcome bonus, the better the deal.

A ВЈ200 match at 40x wagering asks you to stake ВЈ8,000 before a penny becomes withdrawable. A ВЈ50 match at 20x asks for ВЈ1,000. The headline number mostly decides the font size on the banner; the multiplier and the caps decide the value.

Fact The small print is the offer.

Everything that matters — the playthrough multiplier, which games count towards it, the time limit, the cap on what you can win — sits in the terms, not the banner. That's why two of our five grading criteria are about nothing else.

What does "35x wagering" actually mean?

It means the bonus amount must be staked 35 times over before bonus winnings can be withdrawn. Take a £20 bonus at 35x and you're committing to £700 of stakes, usually on slots only and usually inside 30 days. It's not a scam — it's the standard mechanic — but you should know the size of the task before you accept it.

Can I open one of these accounts while I'm on GamStop?

No. All six operators here hold Gambling Commission licences, and every UKGC-licensed site is covered by GamStop self-exclusion. If you registered with GamStop, you won't be able to open or use an account until your chosen exclusion period ends — and if you're tempted to look for a way round it, that's a signal worth taking seriously. GamCare's helpline is a better next step.

How often do these grades change?

We re-read each operator's offer terms roughly monthly, and the date in the amber strip near the top tells you when that last happened. Offers get rebuilt quietly — a multiplier nudged up here, a winnings cap added there — so a grade from last season isn't one we'd stand behind today.

The banner and the terms, weighed properly, should balance. Often they don't.

The plain version: Spin Route Book is a comparison website, not a casino. We hold no gambling licence because we do no gambling — no games run here, no money is staked here. Operators listed above pay us commission for referred customers, which is disclosed wherever it applies and never buys a grade. Gambling is entertainment with a built-in cost, not a way to make money; if it stops feeling like entertainment, these services can help. 18+.
